CJC-1295 (no DAC)

Also known as CJC-1295 without DAC · Mod GRF 1-29 · Modified GRF 1-29 · CJC-1295 DAC-free

PreliminarySubcutaneous injectionNot FDA-approved for any indication. Was placed on FDA's interim Category 2 list of bulk drug substances in compounding, then removed from that list in September 2024; subsequent Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee review did not establish a 503A compounding pathway, leaving its compounding status unresolved. Prohibited in sport (WADA, S2). Research/compounded use only.

CJC-1295 without DAC, often labeled Modified GRF 1-29, is a GHRH analog carrying amino-acid substitutions intended to resist enzymatic breakdown while retaining a comparatively short duration of action. Like native GHRH it acts on pituitary GHRH receptors to trigger a discrete, transient pulse of growth hormone. In research it has been studied alongside ghrelin-receptor agonists such as ipamorelin, a pairing investigated for its effect on each growth-hormone pulse. It is not an approved medicine and is encountered in research and compounded settings only.

Studied / used for

  • Studied for stimulation of pulsatile endogenous growth hormone release
