Gonadorelin

Also known as GnRH · LHRH · Factrel · Lutrepulse

Clinically studiedSubcutaneous injectionIntravenousPulsatile pump infusionBranded products (Factrel for diagnostic use, Lutrepulse for ovulation induction) were previously FDA-approved but have been discontinued; no FDA-approved gonadorelin product is currently marketed in the US, and it is now generally available via compounding

Gonadorelin is a synthetic form of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) that acts on the pituitary to stimulate LH and FSH release. Its effect depends heavily on how it is delivered: pulsatile exposure tends to stimulate the axis, whereas continuous high-level exposure can desensitize the pituitary and suppress gonadotropins. It has been studied in contexts intended to support the reproductive axis, including alongside testosterone therapy.
