Human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) is a glycoprotein hormone structurally and functionally similar to luteinizing hormone (LH). It stimulates the testes (Leydig cells) to produce testosterone and supports spermatogenesis, and it stimulates ovulation in women. In men it has been studied to help preserve testicular function and fertility, including alongside testosterone therapy.
