Growth Hormone Secretagogues
Ipamorelin
Also known as NNC 26-0161
Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide growth hormone secretagogue that activates the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) on pituitary cells to trigger growth-hormone release. It is noted in the research literature for selectivity, producing a growth-hormone pulse with comparatively little effect on cortisol and prolactin relative to earlier growth hormone-releasing peptides. Because it works through a pathway distinct from GHRH analogs, it has been studied alongside compounds such as CJC-1295. It is not an approved drug.
