Semaglutide

Semaglutide is a long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist that mimics the incretin hormone GLP-1. It enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion, slows gastric emptying, and acts on appetite-regulation centers in the brain to reduce food intake. It is marketed in injectable and oral formulations under different brand names for different approved uses.
