Also known as Thymosin Beta-4 fragment · TB4 synthetic analog · Tβ4 acetate (research form)

PreliminarySubcutaneous injectionIntramuscular injectionNot FDA-approved; treated as an unapproved drug / research chemical not permitted for human consumption. Was among peptides removed from the FDA interim 503A Category 2 bulks list in April 2026 and is scheduled for Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee (PCAC) review beginning July 2026. Prohibited in sport by WADA.

TB-500 is a synthetic peptide related to the actin-binding region of thymosin beta-4 and is commonly encountered in the research-and-recovery space. In animal and early studies it has been reported to influence cell migration, angiogenesis, and inflammation, which has been associated with soft-tissue and wound recovery. Large-scale controlled human trials for musculoskeletal use are lacking, so much of the supporting evidence is preclinical or anecdotal.

Studied / used for

  • Studied in animal models for soft-tissue and wound healing
  • Investigated for promoting cell migration and angiogenesis
  • Studied in injury-recovery research for muscle and tendon tissue
  • Studied for inflammation-related signaling in animal models

Commonly reported side effects

  • Fatigue reported anecdotally
  • Headache reported anecdotally
  • Injection-site redness or swelling
  • Temporary mood changes reported anecdotally; human safety data limited
